How Cleaning Out Your Closets Can Help You Accomplish Your Goals!

So, what condition are your closets/drawers in?

We have no time. We hurry and do and do and hurry doing everything at once yet have you notice how very little we actually accomplish? I'm talking about truly moving forward in our lives. What's stopping you? Can you imagine what can be accomplished in one hour? A song can be written, a painting can be created, a sculpture defined and a chapter of a book completed. No, instead we are cutting back on that which we should clearly enjoy but are not. Look at how we text each other? Short abbreviations (LOL) of all kinds - are we running out of time? Why do we take the short cuts? What are we doing with the rest of our time? Procrastinating? Or, are we confused through all the stuff which we fill our heads! How can we truly function on all cylinders? How can we truly fulfill our dreams? Our goals? Do you have one?

Looking at our closets and drawers I believe it's a great analogy of what we may or may not be doing. How many of us have each piece of article in it's proper place all the time. Is it organized? Or, are things scattered about in different spots around the house with no true organized fashion? For today, let's say we are going to re-invent our space, including our own head space. How easy is it to re-invent yourself at any given moment if you needed to? Change your thought patterns if you need to? Throw away all the outdated thoughts that no longer is you?

On Becoming More Creative

One of the amazing things we can do, while we are cleaning out our lives (and closets/drawers), is to bring to us that which will work - including people! People who can help you keep on track, realize your goals. Why would you hang around people who pull you down or worse, suck all the energy from you? Same thing with your closet! Why hold on to that which doesn't work for you anymore? It's a constant that does remain in our lives and it's called change! Without it there would be no progress. We wouldn't live in our homes that was once an idea in someone's head! They took action! These people surrounded themselves with people who made their plans/goals work! We wouldn't have cars, radio, telephone, chocolate(!), computers, great art work, songs, roads, medicine and so on. Taking action, re-inventing yourself today, not tomorrow. One step at a time.

Reassemble and Disassemble

Where does it all begin? Starts in your head, your mind. Re-think of how you see yourself and how you would want others to see you. Take for example, the idea that you have an important meeting upcoming and you have to present your ideas to one or several people. How prepared are you? It's one thing to look the part but it's another thing to have the content! It's about the content. If we are scattered or don't have the content organized, how do you think people will react? They won't take you too seriously.

Do you have a goal in mind? A dream? Have you taken the steps to write down some ideas that are now tucked away somewhere? Or have you half accomplished something and put it away? Doing one thing at a time is the key. It's like staring at a large mess of a closet and trying to figure out where to start. You start with one thing, one piece, at a time. No magic, nothing out of the ordinary, no drama. I noticed for example that if I have too much going on inside my head, racing thoughts and out of control, I don't accomplish all that I would have wanted to. The mundane choirs like laundry somehow gets caught up between my emailing then vacuuming runs into my writing and so on. Scattering my energy because my head is running a million miles. Like a closet or drawer we through stuff into and then say 'we'll get to it later'. It's about focusing on one thing at a time.

Take your dream (if you don't know what your dreams/goals are, start to think about it today!) of what you want and define it. Starts usually with a mission statement. What do you want to really do? No excuses here, just write it down. Some may have gotten this far and even started toward their goals/dreams and then stop for some reason or other. Again, where is your energy going? Where is your focus? I had a person say to me when I asked what they do tell me to check out their website online. They were proud they accomplished their website but I knew they weren't actually doing anything more about their goals. Why are some people re-directing others to a site when they should be enthusiastic about that which is their goal? Again, the habitual short cut method because they have soooo much else to do. Really? By showing others more of you, taking the time to share goals and dreams is the way to move forward. That is, toward your goals. It's about constantly attending to it, living it and being inspired by it everyday. If you're not, there is something lacking. Re-focus.

It's An Illusion

Taking steps toward fulfilling your goal takes time and timing. Don't become discouraged or leave things half done. It's an illusion and a mind set that needs to be re-invented. Forget about "I can't" or " I don't understand" or "I'll do it when I'm not so tired", excuses. It's your life and path! Be open to the process of learning and the amazing changes along the way. It's actually in the process that most of the accomplished feeling arise. All the ups and downs but it's your goal, your dream no one else's. This in itself is inspirational. What's holding you back? No excuses.

Figure out what your creativity is about. The power of you being able to shape your destiny is in your hands, right now, otherwise society will shape your road for you. This is where the magic is lost. You are not in control and like a messy unorganized closet/drawer, there is no substance only a shell filled with disorganized stuff!

Do you hear yourself ever say: "I'm not ready yet", "I have one more thing to do before I do...", "I'll be ready next week", I'll do it tomorrow", "I don't feel inspired".

Each time we take a breath in it's called inspiration. So, we do have new inspiration the moment we exhale. What is giving you breath? Life? A sense of feel good. A feeling of being totally alive. Hmmm?

Believing In Yourself

It's interesting what happens when you start believing in yourself. Who you are and what you are and what you can create in your life. The magic of self-belief magically draws others to you. You believe in you so will others. This is the engine that can make your dreams/goals a reality. Sharing with others, helping others and having people see the raw, true you, with a strong sense of Self. It is amazing what happens as you begin to say what you mean and mean what you say, true self-belief- others cannot help but want to help you.

How can you put yourself in the mood? Play certain music each day that will keep you focused, read an inspirational piece that draws out extra energy within you to feel inspired about your goal/dream, take a walk. Whatever it is that truly makes you want to move mountains, do it.

Organizing Your Inspiration

Is your inspiration scattered around your home? Still inside your head? Manifesting takes unifying yourself and your work. It's when you do organize your 'stuff' that not only other people will understand your goals/dreams and help you, but you will understand your goals/dreams. Always keeping it neat and focused. Some people try to plan ahead and figuring out each step along the way. Some people even get stuck because they aren't sure of how something will turn out, or they can't figure out a few things related to their goals/dreams. I say, once you put it out there, organized and neat, focused on an objective (your goal/dream) that along the way inspiration will guide you to the next thing you need to do. Or, feedback from others may give you additional 'ah-ha' moments and then you will have the missing piece of the puzzle. It's in the doing, the process, all will unfold in time. It's about the timing. Our society deems we don't have enough time. Don't listen, just do.

Fear of Success Common

Did you know success scares a lot of people? Many don't know they are scared of it! But they show it or label it when they say, "I'm not good enough", "I'm not sure of how it's going to turn out", "There is so much competition out there". Or, because they have been told by family members they are not good enough or that they are taking a difficult road or are crazy to think they can be 'x', deters them from actually accomplishing their true desires. It's an illusion!!!!! Outdated perception that needs a good clean out! For some they don't know how to feel if they were to become successful. It's a foreign experience which for some can scare them. The unknown is frightening and change as a result can be off putting.  That's what leaves many in a place of contentment because they know what they have and where they are at right now.  Changing the mind set and changing one's perception is the way to unblock their truth.

Thinking Big Can Scatter Our Energy

Sometimes just focusing on keeping things simple and manageable helps tremendously.  Taking steps each day without looking at the huge picture of where you want to be helps.  Getting lost in the big picture can deter people from really doing what needs to be done. Control your thinking head and keep a couple of things in your head at any one time. It's not only manageable but scaling down how much flows through our heads/minds helps keep you on track.  When there is too much going on in your head, the energy becomes overwhelming.  Then you become drained, lethargic, even discouraged.  Even worse, you veer off your tracks toward your goals/dreams.  Yes, if a thought comes in to do something else, leave it for another time. Set your time.  If we are honest, much of the thoughts with new urges is only distracting and isn't such an emergency.  It's a bad habit in today's society where people must be and do all they can.  No.  Help yourself, you will then be able to help humanity.

I'm off now to tend to my closets/drawers.  Happy cleaning!

Great to hear from you all!!!! Yes, I noticed how people keep their front lawns too! If it's a mess, the inside of the house is in a state of chaos, including the closets!!!! I firmly believe that what goes on 'inside' ourselves is reflected on the outside. I too studied Feng Shui and it's amazing. BUT, people must do some inner cleaning (subconscious stuff) in order to make any kind of improvement work - energetically speaking!

Thanks Laurel and Hope!
